A few months back. A garage ripped my front bumper off my bmw. I gave them two choices. My friends bodyshop or BMW dealer bodyshop. It was sorted in a few weeks but i had to ring everyday and went down there a few times and had to ring head office.

Just keep pestering them and be stern. You are within you right to chose a trusted repairer etc.

Ok just a few points for you

    1) It is an offence a very serious one for an AE or an NT (mot tester's) to threaten violence to the vehicle presenter (you) or indeed to anyone else this can result in them losing the right to carry out testing

    2) My first port of call would be to VOSA report this straight away and allow them to carry out their investigation depending on the outcome of this could even mean jail time they really do have that kind of weight!! The guy is obviously in the wrong and needs bringing to book for this.

I am for my sins an MOT tester and i had a few mins to look this up in our "Bible" today in all honesty i would have let him assault me then the police would have had to get involved!!

all the best in getting this resolved

I have just seen this over on a classic VW forum http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=784670 and I feel for you. It is starting to go viral which is what you need. May I quote a previous post and show how using the power of the internet and taking the right action works for you

This story is slightly wrong. That 206CC (2 months old) was damaged by the local Peogeot dealer when peogeot instructed them to do a repair to the leaking roof that the owner had cleary said not to do. The owner then drove there and then to Peugeot HQ and as you said in a clam and collected manner spoke to everyone they could. Peugeot gave the owner a courtesy car very quickly even though the 206CC was very new at the time and no one had any stocks. The car never was repaired properly and the owner got a new car.

This new car also leaked and when less than a week old the owner asked for a refund having lost all faith in the model. The garage & Peugeot UK refused. Peugeot UK supplied the owner with a courtesy car while they argued - 406 estate - lots of windows . The owner went to trading standards, got legal advice on a sign and posted it in all of the windws that were behind the driver and then drove around for a week. The sign basically stated what had happened and also a link to the 206cc owners website where a thread like thsi was running. This got a lot of publicity and the owner was quickly contacted and offered an immediate refund in full.

Now how do I know this? Well I was that person. This may sound like a rambling thread but the point I am trying to make is that if you do things right and get advice first you can get some cracking results.

If people want to help then can I suggest that you all go to the review of the garage that someone put up earlier ** Click for review ** and all click on the comment that links to this thread and mark the review/comment as useful. You can't be done for just clicking the review as useful but you will be helping as it will also help the review climb the search engines
