There is a way mate but i dont know how to go about it myself, i know this as i had an 05 megane and wanted to add a sub but didnt want to change the headunit as it was all moulded in with the dash etc.. my local hi-fi centre did it, cant even remember what theyre called, either moons or sextons. go somewhere proper, i.e not halford's and they'll sort it out.

you can use the signal from your rear speaker wires.

You can do this, but your amp must be equiped for it. I had a crossfire amp that would do this and it had a multi plug that you could connect to the speaker wires from the headunit and it would run off them. Won't be as clear or as powerful this way though. Personally I would take the Head Unit back and exchange for one with outputs, less hassle and better results.

@ Sony power figures. Agreed with Shaun about your situation mate.

You dont need to have it on the amp, you can get preamp converters from halfords for a few quid that convert your standard speaker level outputs to line levels. the only problem is you end up loosing 2 of your speaker outputs.
You can bridge the speaker outputs but this can damage the headunit.

Has your amp got high level inputs on it?

HI
I have ordered a Line Out Converter with adustable levels and voltages!
I am running a Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" sub and a JBL touring amp, with RCA inputs and also a square high level input? I have already ripped the car apart to wire rca leads in so will just try this gizmo if not ill geta differant head unit.
Cheers Guys
Matt

Yep a small square plug on the amp should be the high level input. Should say so on the amp if not deffo in the manual.Originally Posted by MattBrown
