    My mate has a merc 1.8 kompressor (supercharger) and it has to be said this supercharger works and it is brilliant for a 1.8 in a heavy car......

    Cheap bilg that might buy one for my boat as ones there is bit lazy,prob the best use for them!

    That's interesting. Why don't folk fit "real" superchargers then? Most just fit the hairdryer type.

    The old merc slk feels powerful but the newer 1800 one lacks a bit of punch

    I thought the new ones were 1600s? as with everyone else smaller cc for emissions?

    hmmmm, 6 year gap in in posting seems to have blurred the reality between real super chargers & electric pseudo-chargers. (you could probably fit bigger injectors to 'up' the fuelling)

    Electric superchargers were the laughing stock a few years ago, ffs dont get drawn in thinking they actually work.

    stu, I did actually reference this thread in a new(ish) one where a bloke was asking after an electric s/charger for a school project his kid was doing & I was pointing out a possible cheapo source for one....
