Engine & box back out. More tube ordered (hopefully for the last time! ). More cans of Steel-It ordered. Hopefully this week I can get the rest of the tubes done. Then I can get it onto the rotisserie for welding it all up before painting.

I really want to have all bare metal surfaces coated and the car mostly assembled by the end of August

I think I remember that place. I came and picked up a disked rear beam from you with a mate. Reasonable amount of land from what I remember and you had a big workshop in one of the barns? I guess being a farm it would have plenty of land!

Yes, that's the place. I had a big workshop with a 2-post lift, and depending on when you visited I'd subsequently put up another building, of about 1500 sq/ft.

There were various other buildings/stables, many in a state of disrepair. It was just under 5 acres in total.

my thoughts are to try and build the sills into the frame and then have the a and b pillars boxed off at the bottom and bolt down onto the sill sections. Then as long as I can seal up between the frame posts and body pillar posts it could be all good?
Drag cars with the prop inside usualy have a tube welded in a strategic place to stop it coming into the cockpit if it fails and the gearboxes are wrapped in a kevlar "diaper"
To stop parts flying all over. Usualy bolted to a mid plate. The bulk head usualy just has to protect you from fire and flying parts. I know in the fwd series we have to have a 150x250x6mm plate bolted to the bulkhead inline with the flywheel and all holes welded up but thats about it. That chassis is looking mint nice work

Ah yes, the diaper, I remember this from a 187 Customs (Murder Nova) youtube episode where he had to fit one for a certain racetrack.

6mm plate! Jeez! But I guess a flywheel ripping through your chassis is no joke!

    Tube work afternoon today!

Added b pillar door bars each side, grab handle drivers side (help my fat ass over the climbing frame!), and drivers a pillar to turret support.

Hopefully get passenger front turret done tomorrow and hoping so more tube will be arriving!

Confused, have I logged into PNG or Rightmove?

As cool as a removable shell would be, what's the realistic benefit once the car's built?
