Going back to the bulkhead sealing etc, I have no experience of doing such a task. All I know is from watching drift cars and drag cars they always seem to fill up with smoke, so stuffs gonna get through one way or another right? How do you stop engine fumes etc??? Is it therefore more a case of safety from fire or flying objects??

I?d love somewhere with some proper character like that. What?s it worth, out of idle curiosity?

I’ve only ever seen race cars that have removable bodies. And as you say they never seal totally.

In terms of motorsport regulations there is only a requirement to have a sealed bulkhead between the fuel tank and the cockpit, and the engine and the cockpit.

I guess the only solution to that is to make the bulkheads solely within the spaceframe chassis.

I "think" it's going to go up in the ?7-800k region. Which around here, you can get a lot of nice character for that money. But for someone who falls in love with it...

I thought I?d heard of Salvin. He designed Harlaxton House, one of my favourite buildings from my time living in Lincolnshire 😀

I never understood how some of the drag cars get away with having the gearbox and prop exposed inside the cabin, with the gearbox bolting up to the bulkhead??

my thoughts are to try and build the sills into the frame and then have the a and b pillars boxed off at the bottom and bolt down onto the sill sections. Then as long as I can seal up between the frame posts and body pillar posts it could be all good?

Just looked Harlaxton Manor up and definitely is his renowned style. He did so many projects in his time it was crazy. He was young when he got his big break.

Out of my league, but it doesn’t sound unreasonable at all.

Ideal for someone moving up from the south. A lot of properties like this have been selling for silly money this past year with southern money bidding wars and people looking to flee to the countryside.

Very much so, the farm we bought in Lincolnshire was ?280k in 2005.

    I’d bet that’s worth ?600k now.

My ex-Mrs has done alright out of that
