    Default 1.6gte conversion

right as i previously mentioned to the horror of most ppl in here, im buliding up a gte engine with r1 carbs(no car yet, not important ) been reading afew other posts saying that the driveshafts have more/less teeth than norma?l. probably going to get a 1.4sr and rob engine bits such as the dizzy+ coil, will this be ok? any other advice or things i may have missed? cheers

think your confused S T E, he's fitting R1 carbs, not an R1 eninge. gte engines have 22 spline shafts, the 1.4sr will have different shafts. when you fit the the engine, you'll need gte hubs.

be cool to see the results of the carbs, my bro had them fitted to his kit car, 38mm bike chokes were the equivalent to 45mm webers... you been in touch with bogg brothers?

    No Ste is right.

People get 22 spline driveshafts to use for big block conversions, the 1.6 8v is small block.

Check the gearbox you use, not all flys and clutches are compatible with each other. F10 has a small fly and clutch, F13/F15 are larger & the F16 is different again.

They have 22spline yeah, but all nova's have the same fitment inner/outer cv's.
So the shafts will be fine

yeah i live a bout 30 miles away from bogg bro's had a look round there workshop got some right kit and will make anything you want. well im thinking on trying to get a 1.4 sr to put engine in so i dont need to buy a new tank for carb models and also save buying ignition system.
