temp gauge dont work why?

hi people my temp gauge isnt working and the fan dosent come on and i dont no wether the fans blow hot air out what could this be any help would be great cheers adam

Check you have water in the engine.

Do the heaters blow hot air?

Is the wire for temp sensor connected to the left hand side of the inlet manifold?
