    Default Gear linkage

The other night I raced a Escort convertible rs turbo. I stayed with him all through 1st and as I went for 2nd I felt a big crunch from the gear stick. What could this be? Worn linkage? I have been advised to change the pins in the linkage, but I don't think it will do much . It doesn't do it all the time, in fact it has only done it once since (and that was when I was booting it) but makes you look like a **** when your racing, one minute your sitting on someones rear bumper, the next your no where 2 be seen. There wasn't a loss in power when it happened, but my automatic reaction was to slow down. Straight after I took it out of 2nd and then put it back in, and it was fine.

    Anyone got any ideas?

I went to nova tech at lunch, he said it is to do with the sink in the gear box.

What would be the best gear box to get the power to the wheels best? I have been told an astra van box would be best.

    Whada ya reckon?
