nova gte insurance

hi,
i have just purchased a nova gte. i'm 20 and i'm currently insured fully comp. on a peugeot 306 dturbo which is ?700 with norwich union. i have been driving for nearly 3 years and have a years no claims. i rang up today and they said that it would be an extra ?260 to change the policy to the nova gte and 3rd party fire and theft. so. ?960 for the year...

is this alot?

they also said that the car needed to have a thatcham approved alarm and immobiliser, so the car would be insured if stolen...
any one got any ideas of what to fit or what to pay?

Sounds an alright price to me.

You can get a thatcham approved Toad installed for about ?250 ish.
