roof rails
i posted a message similar to this a while ago, thought i would repeat it seen as there are so many new members! can the rails along the side of the roof be removed and smoothed over? there was some talk of them supporting the roof and if they were removed it would dangerous?? is this true, any help appreciated. Have a look at what i mean.

i think they probably hold all your filler in place!

you can take em off if u fill where they were with weld then grind and smooth over
but you have to do this absolutly spot on are your car will fall aprt (again!)

I`d try bending it back, the gutter is where the roof joins, and is welded to the sides of the car. I was going to take mine off but decided not to, it`ll weaken the the car, not good for your next roll!!

you could fold em down then weld allong the edge and blend it in. might look quite funky
