    1. Power capacitor or battery
    Am i right in sayin a power cap stores the energy and then releases it without any voltage drop?
    If i had a spare battey in the boot, wired that up to my amp wouldnt that do the same thing? Iv got a wiring kit 2 carge it off the alternator aw well

    2. does ne1 no wer i can get a cheap 4 channel sony amp from? gota b sony tho

    the capacitor charges up and is used mainly on big bass notes to power the sub, the 2nd battery would be to keep the overall charge limit of the system higher, like if your alternator cant handle your system, or if you run uy ICE with the engine off!!

    OK then,

    A power cap is needed for high energy music when instantanious power is needed to produce the notes from a sub for instance. A battery is very slow to pass the current to the amp, a cap is very much faster. The use of both is rearly required under normal conditions.

    1, Cap for fast power
    2, Battery for staying power, cruises etc with the engine off.
