    'E36' is a bit of a general statement. Its like saying 'clio' you can get everything from a 1.2l to a 182hp just like you can get a 1.8 3 series up to an 3l M3.

    If you knew what e36 you were comparing the 172 to then the discussion may be a bit deeper.

    A 325 or a 328 with an m3 back end and some trick suspe sion mods would be a very well sorted track car.

    Yer I suppose it was vague, I would be looking at larger engined bmws 323 325 328. I had a 318is and the lack of power was disappointing but still enough to catch me out a few times

    i clicked e36 by accident , clio 172/182 every time, they handle like they're on rails

    One does one doesn't, both have a lot of money in them though (one more than the other) so not a true representation of what a Clio goes like.

    If i built another track car it would either be a Civic EP3 (Type R) or an E36 BMW m3.
