While the head is off my 12ST.....

Im going to refurb the head on my 12ST as its got a leaky core plug and figured while its off the road i'd refurb it. Head gasket, belt, stem seals, etc etc. Plus Im bored and enjoy these things.

Is there anything i can do whilst im in there to perhaps gain a little power? Someone mentioned adding a 1400 bottom end which sounds reasonable. C14NZ and C14SE's are available here so im tempted. Would the carb be up to it?

Any other advice?

You could give it a quick port, there's plenty of videos on YouTube and then have it skimmed.

If you can find one add the camshaft from the 1.3 Sr, 13sb is the engine code iirc

Check the valve guides before you consider any other parts. A good upgrade is 1400 sr cam and carb, if you can find them.

1400 carb manifold is god awful though.... And the same car as the 1300 iirc.

1300 cam gives 5bhp on a std 1200
