Default mk1 6 dial clock fuel gauge problems

    hi all,

right i have put 6 dial clocks in the mk1 daily
they was them plasma dials the fuel gauge reads fine but the problem is the fuel light never came on when it was getting low... it would when you first put the ignition on but nothing after that...

so i got hold of another set of clocks as i wasn't bothered about the plasma
now the fuel light does come on but its just under half a tank full or sometimes its a 1/4 of a tank

has anyone had anything like this or know of any fixes

    its just annoying that's all

    thanks in advance

All to do with that little curcit board behind. I've never had one that works other than when switching on the ignition

It will probably be something to do with the resistors on the back of the clocks.

i have 5 and they all seem to be the same they either work for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on
or the only one i have that works comes on just under half a tank
so do you know if this one works and when it comes on??

Wonder if you can run two wire s from the gauge with an inline resistor an wire it to the speedo wiring / plug
