    Default battery not charging

    Hi my battery is either not charging or bejng drained, replaced the alternator and checked its working(which it is) but the battery keeps going flat. Changed battery for a new one its still going flat any advice cheers

    Have you got a voltmeter?
    if so check voltage on battery....ideally about 13v at rest.
    start up engine.....should rise up to about 14v
    thus you will see if it's charging correctly.

    as for being drained by something you will have to check everything.

    Does the altenator have the earth strap c onnected correctly?

    How did you test the alternator and come to the conclusion that its charging in the first place?

    Either:
    its not charging
    The battery is faulty
    you have a drain
    Or a combination of the above

    it might be something silly, like the boot light is staying on.

    ive seen various occasions where people have wired up amps/subs wrong, and they have a permanent drain, which flattens the battery in less than a day

    I once put a screw through the wire for the bootlight and spent weeks trying to trace the drain!
