    Default 1987 Nova 1.3 GL

So sold one of my SR's, and couldn't leave the space in the garage empty for long.
SR went on the Sunday and had this bought on Monday! It's a 1987 Nova 1.3 GL 5 door, a bit of a rare model, wasn't a lot made.
Reason I went for this one is my granny bought one brand new in 1985, and then my mum drove it from it was a year old until about 1995 when it was sold on.
I always had the notion of getting one the same again, and had looked, and eventually found our old car about 2 years ago. Needless to say it was bought, and brought home again, but whilst the shell isn't in bad nick, anything that made it a GL was long gone.

This one was advertised on e-bay, genuine 23,000 miles from new and in great condition. Since it was a 5 door I knew it was going nowhere quickly so I just waited and then offered a bad price for it! Intention was to use it as a donor for all the bits of trim for my own one, but now I have it home, I don't really want to touch it!

My original one as it left us in 1995, haven't any recent photos of it as it isn't much to look at. (facelift bootlid fitted after my mum made contact with a telegraph pole!)

    New one:

Very Nice! Still on the original Michelins? Should it have a separate front bumper/grille?

Just wondered if you knew what the difference was between an l and a gl? just the clocks?

Clocks, brown tinted glass instead of green, the boot lip protector, coach stripe up the side, extra sound proofing are the differences I know of! Apart from the L being facelifted of course!

GL was only available in the early models, they were discontinued after the facelift, so this will be one of the last on an E plate.

Just noticed this car has central locking, never seen one before with central locking and no electric windows. I think its factory fit, but can anyone confirm or deny you could get one with central locking by itself?
