That will look fantastic freshened up, the soft stars work so well.
What are you doing with the lower half? Are you replacing the vinyl or having it painted?

Ian, I'm having it colour matched and painted in a matt/satin finish.
Great tidy shell, That will make a fantastic project and live some time.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one PepsiFar from suicidalStill I get them tendenciesBringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce
Love the soft stars si
Loving the car and engine/suspension plans, but personally I'd be keeping it as original as possible and the grooved disks and new wheels kind of spoil that for me.
Look forward to the pictures when she's out of the bodyshop!
Alastair, simple reason I have those brakes is that they are the biggest I can run behind the standard 3 spokes. I totally agree it needs to be fairly original - if you like I only ever intend on improving on standard.
Wheels can be changed, I personally love Nova's on 16s but will have the choice of both!
Oh the brake upgrade makes perfect sense, I'd just have plain disks if it were me!
Definitely and to each their own mate! You've made a lovely job of it!
So the car has made its few mile trip to a good friends new business. We're doing it on a bit part basis so the Nova doesn't take up space in his main booth. This helps keeps cost down for me and is helping build my friends business so it's a good decision for both of us.I took a Monday off work to take it down, involved running it up (started on the button pretty much!) and moving it outside where it saw a bit of rain for the first time in 2 odd years
So this is where a few surprises came;A have a receipt for new arches from Vauxhall in about '99 sadly it seems Vauxhall weren't the best at doing it...However this was and is the original arch under a load of filler...The arches have been cut out now;And the inner cleaned up enough to be able to create a single skin arch - hopefully meaning the old weakness of double plate arches will be a thing of the past and should last a good while.Arch offered up..And welded in...Other side - single skin shown - please don't comment on the wavyness of the lip - we know this, it is merely tacked in and needs a little panel beating to make it fully true.
