couldn't of painted the oil pump.

So if the pistons are sticking out to far already.. Why take so much off the head? Did it need so much taking off?

Could of painted the oil pump, but I'm not vain!!!!!! Hahahahaha

Block was 3 thou out head was warped, 2 thou one side, 3 the other!! So it needed skimming and decking the only reasonable solution was a thicker head gasket, 60 thou.

To be fair the head COULD have gone back on as it was but it was 15 minutes while it was out so no reason not to skim

Default House's ITB XE build and re-build

Sick of my engine falling over or being unstable when removing from the car so smashed this together

    And with the engine on

Lovely and stable, slight mod needed tomorrow as the flywheel hits one of the mounts but no real drama.

Also got my cover on with a made up rubber from a bit of boot seal, happy with that.

Collect my CV's, gearbox and running in oil tomorrow and make a start getting it back in the car!!

To say I'm excited is an understatement!!

Iain commented that I've not touched the car in nearly 3 months and in the space of 8 days I've removed and rebuilt the engine and am about to have it back in the car!!

Also made it to the Phirm today to add something I've wanted for ages!! Getting so bored of removing the engine and box and leaving the shafts in as I don't want to loose the box oil!!

I did all the machining to get it in, had to turn it down on the lathe and shorten it as much as possible, just had to get Tim to lickrod it in with the TIG

Took it for a drive at 4pm this afternoon

Got a sodding oil leak!! I think it's from the cooler unions, so I'll have them off tomorrow and see what it's saying

Leak fixed, was the oil temp sensor adapter, I broke the original one and forgot I needed to file a chamfer on the inner edge of the nut to allow it to get close enough to the block for it to seal!! School boy error
