This engine will be a spare once the proper shell is done, so it's worth doing it properly!!

Darren had to over size the bore by 1.25 thou for him to be happy the damage was fully out. He said the clearance is 2.5 thou instead of 1.25 but as it's a track engine and will run hotter and 1.25 thou is nothing!!!

Default House's ITB XE build and re-build

Busy day down with the boys today

Darren got his freak on with the bottom end

Pistons protrude too far out the block, 26 thou so in order to maintain a minimum piston squish of 25 thou (as recommended by QED) we've had to go with a cometic 0.060 thou head gasket, which should give us a squish of 34thou, plenty!!

    Head getting some cleaning

    Head getting ready for skimming

    Skimmy skimmy

Taken off a whopping 2 thou!!

Painted, just needs a wipe down.

Lifters have all come out and apart to be cleaned, everything will start going back together tomorrow.

We've decided I can assemble it at Modus under direct supervision as I'm so ham fisted I can't be trusted with anything.

One final shot of the cam pulleys painted and also media blasted my rear calliper carriers for the new beam so they'll be ready for the new shell just need to send the callipers away for re-furb, probably to BCS who are doing the Alcons.

Back to Modus via the gym and a stop off at the Valentine's Day card shop, what a crock of crap that is.

And left snugly under a blanky for the night as in off to Swansea boyo for a lift breakdown tonight

Collecting tomorrow afternoon, plan to have it running Thursday midday, quick run in down the bypass and Robert's your father's brother.

Go go team Shonky. Keep at it & you'll be smoking tyres instead of engines.
