    Default Snapped my key :(

basicly the situation is last night, I snapped my key :s I need my nova for work as I deliver parcels. so immediately started thinking what the f**k am I going to do. luckily I thought I could just hot wire it and stall it all day long whilst doing deliveries but then realised I wouls have to break into it at every delivery or leave it unlocked all day with parcels in it. but luckily my windows are broke at the moment and are held up with gaffa tape as there are no mechanism at all. so I could just grab the window and push down, break the tape and unlock the door and get in.

I also orderd a new barrel and key set which are due to come tomorrow.

so this morning, I went out, pushed the window down unlocked the door opend the door got in the car hot wired the car reversed off the drive turned the wheel the steering wheel locked

just wondering if anyone has got any tips or anything to look out for when changing the ignition barrel, is it a straight forward easy swap or am I going to run into difficulties

Was the key snapped in the ignition or door lock?

without the key youll struggle to change the ignition barrel. If the broken bit of the key cant take off the steering lock then you wont be able to swap the barrel once you get a new one.

options are to either get a new steering column and swap it out.
snap the steering lock with your foot in the wheel, which may end up wrecking the column anyway
or get the broken bit of key and try and repair it so that you can turn it in the lock.

Or just get the broken bit of key out and a new key cut
