Default XE breakdown...fuel related, please help!

The Nova XE has been 'juddery' under average acceleration for about a week. Seems fine on full throttle and idle's fine. Took to garage who said try a new airflow meter but on way home tonight its died Throttle just disserpeared as though no fuel and engine cut out. When I turn the ignition on this relay is flicking like crazy suggesting a problem.....

The wiring goes direct into the loom beside the battery. Has this relay got an involvement with the fuel system and could it be causing the problem? As always any help and suggestions are really appreciated

    Thanks

    Greg

That looks like the fuel pump relay

my xe was doing the same thing and it was the air mass. Maybe see if you can borrow someone with the same type as yours to see if it fixes it. Or see if you can get a good 2nd hand one.
I got a new one off someone on ebay for £65 posted. Think I was lucky though.

So it may not be a buggered relay, its the air flow meter messing with it? (Possibly)

If you can find them, get an early one. They are sealed.
Later ones can be opened which mean they get wet and jam on.

Can you get fuel pump relays new?
Or is it a pocket job from the scrappy?
also what cars have the same ones? Im guessing 2.0 8v are the same

Not aslong as what the gm ones would but it sould last as long as used one. If it works and runs fine then just buy a spare or 2 and keep them in the car
