    Default So, the nova was fun while it lasted

    The dreaded Z16LER piston 4 failure hit hard Saturday morning, warmed up the car and just gave it a bit of toe in second gear, as soon as it came on boost the piston came apart (see crack!) wedged itself in the bore snapping the rod which went through oil and water galleries, the front and back of the block, destroyed the sump baffle and filled the engine with bits of metal

    When i did this to my renault 5 gt turbo it made me happy for some reason, hope you get it sorted, always loved this motor in the flesh!!

    Sourced a new block and head, just sorting prices for forged internals and some other goodies and waiting on a price for a garrett GTX28, custom inlet. Aiming for 400+

    It shifted at 200 with a dying piston so can't wait

    I assume your getting a new inlet as is it not that that causes the lean running on number 4?

    Not 100% tbh burgo, people are a lot more adamant that its down to the injectors being max'd out that's why I got 540's but the damage was done before I got it. But yeh that's part of the reason
