You PAYED £3210 to insure a car?

In my opinion even the £945 is unreasonable. Its a classic and shouldnt cost much atall to insure.

1 year NCB generally makes a massive difference, as the insurer has some history to go on.

£3k is the going rate for <19 insurance these days apparently, no idea how kids manage to pay for it - I certainly didn't have that much cash when I was 17/18 to spend (or want to spend) on a car, let alone insurance for it

Try getting a quote off HIC, as they acknowledge my 92 Nova as a classic and with all the mods charge me around £350.

Thats with no NCB, as its in use on another policy. Agreed you are a bit younger, but definately worth a try.

The main year of risk for insurers is that first year, but a word to the wise, the cheapest price may not be the best, a lot of insurers are guilty of selling stripped back policies which are barely worth the paper they are written on.. check what you are buying.
