    Exclamation mk3 cavalier running with key out wont turn off

    i have a c20xe mk3 cav due to a porous head i swapped the original for a costcast
    this is where the problem began started the car ran fine revs up fine etc...

    but it idles at 1100rpm and wont turn off with the key any help appreciated

    Sounds like it could be the alternator switch, it seems to be keeping the car running, it is a common problem. there is a little lead that plugs in to the back of it just pull it out, if it dies then there is your problem. Or there is a short somewhere else

    Also what do you mean pull the feed off like as in an ignition live because am pretty sure its only blue and white and a red wire cheers again

    Wil try that mate cheers but its only battery light a think because it wasn't wired up when I got the car
