I flew an aerobatic - really enjoyed it. Don't really see me affording to be a pilot. If I was to do it all again though would have probably tried joining the RAF

what has one wheel and flies??
Went to go commercial about 6 years ago. Was difficult one as its a big outlay and not a lot of money back. At that time Ryanair were paying 9k for the first 6 months!
I've around 200 hours on my PPL flying C172's and PA28-180's. Just decided to fly for a bit of a past time.
Most of the guys I trained with are flying now. Few with Easyjet, one BA and another Thomas Cook - he was clearing 7500 last time we spoke.
I trained at Glasgow, was good mixing with the bit boys

Yeah the outlay for initial return is appauling, Ryanair are notorious for paying awfull wages and only recruiting new pilots because they know they can get away with it!, You can get your cpl for about £6k now but that obviously doesn't include any ratings, Instrument ratings are the real killer, Is it something you would look into again? It looks like the downturn of the job market is slowly coming to a head so the ryanair ripp-offs are going to have to stop!
No your right it would be better to get away from vfr as it takes away the restrictions so got to be better!, Do you fly out of Glasgow or do you use a smaller aerodrome? I bet the landing fees must be killer in Glasgow!
Im still doing my cpl so not employed yet, Just thought id see if there was anyone else on here as pprune is crap
Flew from Glasgow for a bit after passing and then moved to Cumbernauld, about 10 miles away.
Think it was Just under 30 quid a landing
Thats not too bad! Is it busy there?
