Default corsa c central locking/alarm problem

the car will lock ok but when you unlock it from the blipper it immediately locks itself again - and when you unlock it with the key the alarm doesn't deactivate! - so basically you have to unlock it with the key and then blip it quickly as you get in for a successful entry!

anyone have any ideas? from net research i think its the motor on the drivers side but i thought it was worth an ask before buying any bits

    thanks in advance

yeah its the master solenoid in the drivers door, its a failsafe to stop the motor jamming itself when its faulty so it just reverts to its last state, in this case locked.
