    Update of this weekends progress.

    Set about further stripping down the engine, so flipped it upside down and removed the sump.


    Removed the baffel and the oil pick up. Also found it had ARP conrod bolts fitted. Its like christmas come early!


    Also just gave the block a general clean and de coked all the pistons.


    Began rebuilding the cam carrier.


    Gave the Nova a clean so thought id throw some pics up

    Had to pop down to Halfords to pic up a 12 point 10mm star socket to remove the conrod bolts and found this in the carpark so naturaly i parked next to the old girl.


    With the tool in hand i set about stripping the bottom end


    cracked off the bolts


    Removed the bearing caps


    Shell bearings all looked good, not too much wear but will replace anyway


    Crank journals also looked good, debating weather to get them polished.




    Pushed the pistons out


    Anyone know if these are oversize or standard??


    All labled up!

    Took all the paint off the block with a wire wheel ready to paint!




    Propper chuffed with the end result.

    this is turning into a really nice little car, its guna fly with that motor aswell.

    the block looks soooo much better painted silver! Nice work!
