    Default my lastest ordeal

so i dont no how many of you remember me but i havnt been on for a very long time.

Anyway i have been unwell for a long time. i had been trying to get the gp to do something about it and all i got was we have refurred you for test any way i get my test though the post and this was for a further 3 months the time of the date on the letter. i had been ill for well over 6 months now and trying with the doctors for well over 3 months.

Any way i ended up laying on the sofa until i was that ill i went to a&e and was whisked into a side room as soon as the took my blood pressure. They canulated me there and then and stated putting drips up. I was very very dehydrated and had all manner of diffrent infections.
They put me on a ward got me under control. the diagnosis started when i was feeling abit better any way after scans, xrays and cameras turns out i had ulcerative colitis(a deseaseof the large intestine).
They put me on I.V steroids for a few days and hay presto it started to come under control my life was returning to normal. I was seent home on oral steroids to get rid of it all.

i started to go down hill again and numours visits back to the gp and nothing any way 5 weeks have passed and it was time for a specialist visit get there and bam your going back in hospital. so back on ward and they start all drips again so the steroids are not working. they start me on all sorts of other drugs the lastest being very very dangerous. These dont work what is left on the options list now.

so the decision was made to operate any way after a few days of the drugs not working i came to terms with the operation idea this is after 8 weeks of pure pain and suffering and losing 5 stone in weight.
so i was took down and put to sleep and my large intestine was removed woke up in ICU and started making a good recovery of the morphine in a day and not needing pain releif to much. the moved me up to a ward and we then ran into some complication and i had to go to surgery again so of we went. any way its a week later after the second surgery now and they are amazed with my recovery i am now back at home and making progress cant stop eating though.
in case any one is wondering i had to have a iliyostomy(sp).

Very glad to hear you are on the mend, it seems to deopend on the GP, my mum was ill for over 10 yeras with what turned out to be gallstones, but they spent 10 years treating her for angina, panic attacks and allsorts of wierd things. She was down to very little weight at some points, now several years after she has put on a lot of wieght, despite getting fattish, she is just happy to be able to eat with no pain!Hope your recovery is full and well.
