    Default Fuel Pump

    Right guys iv got a mk1 1200 carb'd nova, im thinking of puttin a electric fuel pump on it and removing the old mechanical one,do i have to fit a fuel pressure reg or would the carb floats be enough ie i of cours dont want any flooding probs. any info would be great,

    one question...... why?

    even if it had twin 40's, the standard pump will be fine.

    piece of mind as ill be using it for nav rallies and if we get lost in the middle of sailsbury plane in the middle of the night and brake down id be slightley naffed off, iv also got a cam carrier with the hole blanked off with a 1300 cam in it and eventualy id like to have a 1400 mpi in it.

    well, an mpi will need an mpi pump, a carb will need a carb pump, so its going to cost you twice. a cam carrier type pump will give about 75000 miles of reliable use..
