Default "Normal" Mk1 grill same as GTE/Sr??

    What a noooob question

Basically, ive got a plain plastic mk1 front grill, it has no bages on it, just straight slats. Is it same as a SR/GTE grill, bar not being colour coded to the car???

'Normal' Mk1 grill has a central badge built into it

SR/GTE grill is plain slatted but has like a swedge line built into the plastic casing of the grill if that makes sense

Could have just cut the slats out as the badge is moulded into the slats

That one, is moulded in, yours is most likely a GTE/SR one.

edit: SR ones weren't colour coded afaik.

If the slats are black and the grill is a two-piece (i.e. the slats are bonded to the surround), its an SR grill.
If the slats and surround are all moulded into one, its a poverty spec grill.

Also, as vaughan said, the SR/GTE one has a swage line across the top.

GTE is the same as SR, just a colour coded surround.

    Poverty:

SR/GTE grille, from behind so you can see its separate:
