Default how raped am i going to get

i have a 1l nova and want to do an engine change to a 1.3 or 1.4 engine

im 18 and passed my test last may,

how raped am i going to get, i tryed doing it on a price comparison website, and got 9,999 which is actually ridiculus!! so they thing that because i have changed the engine its going to be a 7litre super fast hypercar engine, and that i WILL crash into a lambo....

    its silly

does anyone know any companys who specialise in this sort of thing?

Flux wanted £3200 off me with no no claims for a 1.6 with ATE brakes lowered 40mm, no other mods, was just trying it as a long shot and expected maybe 2k, but not that! Insurance is generally expensive atm apparently due to the bad winter and loads of claims.

    Ring Flux or Hic maybe,
Its because as soom as you change the engine whether it be to even a 1.2 its classed as a engine conversion. You not better off Keeping the old pushrod, and build a nice spec 1.4 or 1.6 and wack it in when you can afford to. Well thats what i am doing

Give it a bloody good service, then some tlc.
Just think is it worth paying 2000+ for insurance for a 1.3 or even a 1.4
i would build up a nice engine, then it gives you something to look forward to.
Threads like this really make me realise why young drivers insist on undeclared conversions

i know where your coming from exactly!!
I am currently rolling around in a 1.2 loon 4 speed ffs
My plan is to build another hatch 1.6 or xe (undecided atm)
and get it on the road when i can afford to.
My advise to you is if you cant afford to, dont do it. Simplez

But no-one on this forum can physically stop you putting a big spec Let in your car and not declaring it, its all upto you.

Have you anywhere you could put your lil d-reg?

nah nowhere atm, yeh i used to roll in a 1.2 4 speed mate you take it for granted, a 1l with 4speed isnt even funny! it doesnt start all the time well, takes aggges, and then floods!
yeh i just cant see why it costs soo much for a 1.4 ffs !

i guess i can try and get it looking perfect,
nah nowhere atm to store it.
its just when it does start it chuckes out smoke ect, and sounds crap, and when it doesnt start i people blatently look and thing " look at that fuking heap !"

Sounds to me it needs a blaady good service and a tweak up on the old carb,
hard time i know for you,
but you gotta think, your only 18, so insurance are not going to be keen insuring you on any more than a 1.0, let alone a 1.0 with a converted 1.4 in!
i am 19 paying 750 for a 1.2, which is good really (but is too expensive in my eyes ).
    But i got a long time if i wanna insure a 1.6 let alone a 2.0.
But i refuse to pay over 2000 for a car that is worth sub 500
depends on your preferences and cash flow tbh.
