    Does it have to have an electric motor? could you not fit a manualy opperated one like the old jeeps. If your never going to use it who cares if its manual. would be the lightest option.

    Ahh OK. You need something really small and lightweight then.

    That's a good point, I will check the regulations. Thanks.

    Some of those look useful - shame it doesn't give the weights.

    Looking good must be very light, a lot lighter than my set up, golf calipers and rover discs

    It's definitely made the rear beam a lot lighter!

    I don't really need the back brakes to do very much, so I could afford to pare it down as far as I dared. The whole car is around 530kg, and most of the time it runs for no more than a minute or so, so the brakes don't get too hot.

    For a circuit racer, rally or road car I wouldn't dream of going so small and light.

    A while back I decided to relocate the fuel tank from under the rear seat area and get it to the front of the car (or get a different tank to go in the engine bay somewhere).

    Fuel tank removed;

    And with a bit of modifying of outlets, filler cap, brackets, it will sit quite neatly here;

    Just need to learn to TiG weld aluminium now.

    And find homes for the pumps, swirl pot etc., along with piping it all up nicely. I think a smaller swirl pot may be required;

    I would have thought the rear would be better for weight distribution? What's the benefit of having it up front?
