I never updated this... Did Donington 25th Oct 2021. Was a good day.
Car survived with only one mishap; the plastic connector between the gearstick and shifting rod snapped clean off. Thankfully it happened at the end of the day.

And some video footage of chasing the Hangar 30 (Ben) Nova around (attempting to keep up!)
Very nice mate, can't wait till i can do the same in mine! That hanger 30 nova is a bloody rocket!
It is, ignoring the fact it's a 1600! Haha
Bit of work on the Nova before Donny; new wheel bearings after several years of abuse (Audi80 bearings FTW) and a short shifter.
Big block hub goodness
Pressing them in with my trusty vice
Original RJ linkage (top) developed a bit of slop and tightness in places, so taken the one out of House's old red Nova (bottom) and rebuilt it. It uses expensive 'studded' rosejoints which allow for loads of misaslignment.
Rebuilding
Finished product:
A marshall strugglged to spot my tow eye deep inside the GSi style bumper at Snetterton, so I've extended the original tow hook with this lovely item. Try and miss it now!

Looked like fun, good to see Ben’s car back together
Excellent.
I thought the 2 of you had exclusive hire of the circuit at the beginning!

thousands of Nova (plus other Vauxhall and motorsport parts) available.
I built mine in 2012 using a local machine shop. I think I fit bearings approx once every 4 years which given the amount of trackdays on various semi and previously full slick tyres is pretty impressive.
It is, he's great to chase out on track!
The day was awful to be honest; so many people not moving over and getting in the way. Me and Ben would come in fuming haha. Thankfully we got some clear circuit towards the afternoon!
Update covering most of 2022, Nova's taken a bit of a backseat!
I found the pull cables were shot, which is obviously bad news from a safety perspective!
New cables and seals to attempt to stop water ingress:
Cadwell in March was interesting, never done a trackday in snow before!
Mallory in May was much nicer:
Finally sorted my sideskirt damage with thanks to Craig for the part. I did paint it a Hycote grey but it's far too light:
So ended up buying some more UPOL mid grey (expensive for a can!) and repainted and refitted both spats with proper plastic poppers rather than mushroom bolts that rusted and rounded off upon removal!
