Thanks but unfortunately not Burgo, this was a +1mm block
I would say (at a guess) that the damage could have been caused by the pistons getting really hot and cracking (wrong timing/lean) and then breaking up under load.... (or is that what you suggested earlier? )
Not been on in ages, just looked through the last few pages, nice Mods with the carbs and extinguisher (everyone forgets these) then I flicked to the last page, mate I'm gutted for you, these things always kick you in the balls when you think your doing well..
Your too far in to stop, so get the engine sorted, get them carbs set and sling up a video of you kicking in its Teath!

That I really miss when I reminisce
Keep on it mate.
How much cam timing are you talking about? Do the Verniers allow that much of an adjustment? It's only about half a tooth in both directions isn't it?? Are the valves showing and signs of damage?
I've got 2 spare blocks and 2 spare heads if you need any hardware mate
just think about it if you replace the bottom end or the pistons you may have solved the low power gain issue aswell, cant believe this happened seems to be working well when we was out in it
^^^ did you just read that? what a idiot ^^^

Never seen a piston break apart like that, if it was lean ad expect it to melt a bit first but that looks brittle
Oh
Sure with your skills you'll have it sorted tho
There you go sorted. Block off House, pistons off me and your well away
