You can buy drift ones, its down to the diff and tyres. RWD is impossible for drifting, it just spins everywhere. Needs to be 4wd believe it or not. I've got one, but it takes a fair bit of practice to get right, and the tyres aren't exactly full of life, but it's pretty sweet when it all comes together.

Ths is the one I have

I dunno about toys but in the real world RWD is where it's at

TBH it's been years since I have used any of my RC cars, but I remember the drive belt snapping on a Tamiya battery car and it was a laugh, when 4WD it was mostly just grip unless on a loose surface.

It's down to the tyres for drifting, It's like wrapping electrical tape around slicks. (which can also be done when the tyres get fooked)

usually people use 4wd chassis for drifting, having the rear diff locked and some polythene tires(nice and slippy)

easier to drift leccy cars, but it can be done with nitros too!

    heya,

right, i now race nitro offroad, but used to drift,

if you want to drift, then you need to do the following,

open your rear diff case, pack some bluetack in there for perminent drifting, or some grease so it is hard to turn, but will still turn under pressure,

also, i believe the kyosho astra you have is a 1:10, go to your local hobby shop, or ebay, and buy a set of yokomo D tyres, or hpi do them too, both around same price, but YOKOMO is better,

then ur good to go, jus learn to use the brake,

    have fun!
