    What the ballast?
Nah look where it is, it sits perfectly behind the bumper iron thats why i put it there, safely out of the way.. All hidden, and they are waterproof.

Yeh noticed it was behind the bumper reinforcment, suppose if theres no other place to fit them then its the next best area, unless you're involved in a bit of a prang.

Didnt know they were waterproof. Are they deffo water tight or just water resistant?

TBH if I drove into something hard enough to damage the ballast there, the state of the ballast would be the last thing I'd be worried about.

They're cheap enough to replace anyway.

I stripped mine down, they're sealed and filled with potting compound. The only vulnerable part is the terminals, mine had a poor seal on the plug.

The plugs on mine have those nice rubber rings on the plug so when they are pluged in thet have a nice seal..

Mine had those, but the terminals still corroded. I lopped the plugs off, cleaned up the terminals, put spades on the wires then sealed the whole lot with dielectric grease.
