Is it a good place too take oil feed from the pressure switch?...

My 1.6 8v standard carb engine is running about 90bhp and weighs 900kgs and i've wasted a xe nova. both on a rolling start this was.

Is that the most common place to take the oil feed for the turbo...

What size connectors did you use to connect the oil feed pipe from the turbo to the oil pump where the allen key bolt is.

Yer mate you need a bigger fuel pressure regulator to go with the fuel pump and injectors.

You wanna go put it on a rolling road and find out for your self what the actual power output is.


Don't go to clifford cox they are sh*t go some where else and get them to rr it.

Yer mate with a carb engine all you gotta do is buy a fuel pressure regulator for a turbo carb (from Demon Tweeks), and change the jets in the carb or buy twin webbers or a direct replacement carb. ...

my 1.2 engine snapped big end bearing shells and i can get a 1.4sr engine for the same price as a 1.2 engine from scrap yard.

So all i got to do is change the main jet in the carb for a 1.4 and change the camshaft to a slot drive.

The Haynes says the 1.4 carb engine is 14NV.

Single point injection is C14NZ.

Right i've got a 1.2 carb and the bottom end has gone again so i'm putting a 1.4sr carb (14nv) in to.

Is it possible to use the carb and ignition system from a 1.4 astra engine?

i spoke to A to Z who phoned the manufacture of the cam kit. They said there is 3 different cam kits they do that will fit the 1.2 nova

Which is a 1.3 sr cam, a cam for all 1.6 engines e.g astra,...

Its a complete cam kit i got.


Someone has done it before but its trying to find out whether or not the 1.2 dizzy will fit on the end.

Did you have to change the dizzy or was there a slot and hole in the same end of the cam?

I've looked at the cam i got its a GTE, 1.4 SRI MPI 1991 cam and it does that have a fuel pump lobe or a slot for the distributor.

Yer it is cause its altering the valve opening, closing and the overlapping like what a piper or kent cam does.

Yer there should be a fuel lobe but the dizzy end is different to that of the 1.2 carb cam.

Piper/Kent cam kits cost in the region of ?200 and the gte cam does exactly the same.
