?92 Vauxhall Nova SRi
Not been in the Nova game for a while now but always promised myself another when the right one came along....
I bought this one back in August last year without seeing it, and probably paid a little more than it's worth. It was a '92 SRi but with a Mk1 front end, fitted with an XE, painted in a non Vauxhall colour (Rover MG Blue I think), and stripped with a cage and bucket seats.
However I was in the market for a restoration project so kinda looked past its current guise and saw it as an original breeze blue SRi with only 72k on the clocks.
So after lots of email to and fro'ing it was bought, photo below sent from the owner whilst waiting for it to be collected:

And a pic on the trailer before it made its way to Cornwall:

Fast forward 11 months and it rolled out the garage for a wash for the first time in my ownership:

I've got a few jobs done, the buckets are removed and now have the correct blue SRi front and rear seats, door cards & sun visors installed. Mark 2 front end is in the process of a trial fit - I have the wings, headlights & indicators & grille but require a bonnet and front bumper. Smoothed tailgate has gone and has been replaced with a standard item and have a standard spoiler to fit. GSi skirts also now gone.
The short term plan is to strip the front end & remove the engine as there's a decent sized hole in the battery tray that needs some attention along with the drivers side splash guard, and then paint the bay and inner arches in the correct breeze blue. Long term plan then for a full respray back to breeze blue, and get it looking as original as possible. XE is staying at present but haven't ruled out going back to a C14SE...
I'll get some more comprehensive pics of the issues and progress up over the next few weeks, along with a list of parts I'm after!

Looks a clean shell pal. Plans sound good.

Looks good that. The Trophy Blue Looks good on a Nova but going back original sounds like a good plan too.

Nice job, we could do with some more content on here instead of Facebook.
I'll be following along.

Had an hour on it today so got the interior trial fitted, needs to come out again as the wiring needs sorting throughout and I’d like to use an upholstery cleaner on it all:

Parts I’m after if anyone can help:
C Pillar trims & fixings
Fixings for the boot trim panels (grey stud type ones)
Rubber rear suspension top mount covers
Seat belt mount clip cover (where the seatbelt attaches to the C pillar)
Parcel shelf
Cradle type bushing for rear seat split mount
Rear 3/4 interior trims and fixings
B pillar trim & fixing
Silver seat belts (I have the rears but need the lap belt and front belts, would take a full set though).
Both carpets as not sure the ones I have are for a Mk2, and they have holes in from the roll cage feet!
Any assistance appreciated....

Little bit of progress, starting to strip back the engine and bay which revealed the rust issues:

That’s about as much as I can find though which is positive, nothing that can’t be fixed.
Quick question though, is there a difference between Mk1 & Mk2 front panels, and if so is this a Mk1 panel?
