love the nova again.... lol
decided to start fixing it and making it half decent after its been sat on my drive for a year doing nothing...
its not starting cause of a flat battery i think... brakes have ceased... :cry: and its a wee bit rusty!
its now got matching wheels cause i put all the gte ones back on...
im quite pleased with myself... im gonna keep it stripped out and get some buckets and harnesses... my mates trying to get hold of an xe for me...

Have you tried rocking it to unseize the brakes.
Also if you jack it up (on axle stand) and leave on you should be able to grab the wheel and move it... will need some muscles.

yeah, just jack the car up and try to rotate the wheel, either that, or get a can of wd40 and attack it...

To make the rust a little less noticeable, use Jif (yes i said Jif) just rub it on the rust and it makes it a whitish colour.
if its only surface rust, it wont be that much of a bastid to remove!

lol, another nova back on the road after the yr, im in the same situation, had enough of driving my corsa and being sensible, i want some fun! getting my nova sorted and back on the road too!
take the wheels off and hit the drums with a big hammer! that shud free the brakes lol
or a big stick thru th eholes in the wheels
simply park on a hill with the handbrake off, hit drums, catch car
cant beat the ultimate garage tool the hammer

Dont!!! in an attempt to un seize my front calliper i spaced the pads then bolted it up thinking the extra pressure would un seize it, the disc broke and ****ed the pads as well. Same with the backs, they were seized on, i drove them all the way down my drive with them dragging behind, did nothing. When it comes to seized brakes renew the lot. Discs, pads and rear cylinders cost ?38. For that money it aint worth ****ing about with old seized bits.Quote:

Brakes are now unceased... got a strong male friend to come round! Haha. Battery is charged and now it runs!! Woo. First time in months!
I've found some new wheels... bit unsure of them though so let me know what you think! Honest opinions welcome!

good tip... dont leave it with the handbrake on for long sittings, leave it in gear!!!!
