Up to 20k now? Eek
Thats nuts
Yeah considering there's much better cars from that era for less.
World's gone mad, I love Novas but there is no way I'd spend that much on any car let alone a Nova.
Good luck to the seller though.
It's a good investment I say. Keep it mint and years to come be worth pure money!.
Mines white and fast so must be worth 40k lol ;)
I saw the car 5 years ago at Crail total vauxhall and it looked very nice a guy called Jamie owns it. You have to remember this is eBay and its full of messers so a good chance it will be relisted. I have to admit its alot of money for a car that's not nice to drive. He trailered it to crail so probably hasn't used it. Check out his other listings he's selling an escort and fiesta they look mint aswel.
Fiesta turbo:cry:
Why you got a nova if you don't like them ????
Our enthusiasm for the little hatch doesn't make them a collectable. I think the Fords would be a better investment too I'm afraid!
It's Outrageous money for a Nova.
Try explaining to a stranger why you paid 24k for a wonky old hatchback with brown seats and a few stickers!
I can imagine there are a few sport owners out there that said they would never sell, having second thoughts right about now lol
Lets not forget it is an auction so either someone or some people are happy to to pay that for it.
I wouldn't myself but some people have a lot of disposable income, some of these obviously love Nova's :)
Is it not the same as explaining to someone why you would buy an old Sierra with a whale tail for 50k +? Both have rally heritage and both in standard form are mundane daily drivers?
I see where you are coming from but I think it can apply to any of the obscene prices that old 80s / 90s stuff is going for now.
Cant be right now lol
Think thats the most I have ever seen one upto
I know what your saying but as said old 80's stuff is becoming collectable and if you want a good one be prepared to pay the price. Obviously someone wants a sport that bad who will pay the price! Most probably won't make that as there are alot of messers on ebay .
So the guy has two old 'RS' Fords and a shoddy old Vauxhall and the Vauxhall is going for far more so far :o Never thought I would see that happen!
If this is legit then he will need a hand counting that lot!!
What makes ford's so special anyway? Just cos it has rs in front don't make it that special. Go's to show whats more desirable the one that's making more money out the three!!
I know ebay is full of messers and bids arnt genuine just havt to wait and see. More than likely end soon.
Somthing fishy about them 3 cars . They are all nice but lets face it we will have all seen many novas or 80s cars sell as nice as they are it is usualy a struggle to get good money .
A basic model nova in same condition would sell for between 5 and 8k you cant tell me people will pay an extra 20,000 for the same car just with a set of webbers and some stickers (basicaly speaking)
£41000 now think someone is taking the piss on ebay lol.
Yea deffo its at 60k now no nova sport on this earth is worth 60k dont care what anyone says lol
Yeah, seems to have gone viral in the car community so I guess people are taking the piss now.
Ebay ain't a good place to sell a car. Too many messers !!
At £20k I could kind of believe it'll be a genuine bid even though I'd never spunk that cash on one but it's obvious now it's just idiots messing about bidding.
Would be good to see pics of the car currently as I'm guessing those pics were taken just after the restoration?
This is his second time selling it and again looks to be unsuccessful.
I've seen people say its not a real Sport although its on the register. I seem to remember a big hoo har on here a few years back about a well known Nova being re-shelled and claimed as a genuine sport and one of the big arguments was a captive nut on one of the engine mounts which only came on early Nova's including the Sport.
You can see one of the mounts on this Nova but I'm not sure if its the correct mount, is there any other ways of being able to tell? Tailgate is off an early car too so all the suspect things I've spotted so far say its either a genuine Sport or its re-shelled into a shell of same age.
Oh also rumour has it, its the vauxhall heritage museum bidding on it too.
Yours had been upside down for years though,so I'm not surprised lol
