think there was a thread about this a little while ago i think it looks cool and by the amount of bits on it its prob worth the money
LOLz I can think of a lot better things to spend that kinda cash on. And they aint Vauxhalls lol lol
Sorry guys didn't realise it was up before Inever noticed it lol
i have to agree with you guys on this one i wouldnt spend my own money on it any way id prob put it towards a monaro or similar lol there cheap these days
also did any body see top gear the other night and see what they baught with that sort of money
Mk1 Focus RS, Mazda RX7, Supra TT, BMW X5, Range Rover TDV6, Sierra Cosworth, rough is Escort Cosworth, Evo7 or lesser model, Porsche Boxster S, BMW 850CSi, E36 M3, E46 M3, Z3 M Coupé, Audi S3, Audi RS6 blah blah blah the list is endless of better performance or prestige cars for the same cash.....
that is a good list youd pick up a evo 5 or so for nearly half and just about 300 horse outa the box and unleash a lot more horses with little pay out
To be fair most of that are probably in worse nick or lower performance than the Nova, but I doubt I'd spend 7k on it either, I'd be looking at an s2000 with 4k to spend on parts, or a very well sorted skyline for that money.... or that Manta A project I've been wanting for years lol
No Nova is worth that kinda money imo.
worth a bit...but not that much...but then again, if someone is willing to spend that much on it good luck!
for 7k i would by my cav turbo...and be a happy bunny :)
Good spec and I couldn't build one for that as I'm a office boy, worth it tbh.
Im sure you will agree with me when I say just about everything on your list their will cost a hell of a lot more to maintain, insure and enjoy Mike! But we all have our own opinion and given the choice I guess we would all spend our cash differently. A little more of my take on it is here in the original thread..............

Nick.
Without a shadow of a doubt definetly true, but seriously, shelling out seven large on a Nova :S youd have to be off your head on crack to even contemplate doing that :S
And its not as if its going to significantly go up in value over time as Novas, and GM on a whole dont have the childhood dream appeal compared to 80's Fords, they will never ever demand the same kinda money as RS 1600i's for example.
Mike, no offence but your anti nova comments are getting borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.
If I had the money I buy what ever the Fuc.k I want not what someone on the internet tells me to, or how much I should be paying.
One more things, Fords are ****e.
Jap >>> Fords
We all have our different poisons I guess! Im a huge fan of the series one also. After owning series two and fiesta turbos its the only one that has eluded me as I could find one good enough for what I wanted to spend at the time. But getting back to this......... My point is the cars were from a similar era and originally priced not too far apart for similar model specs. The only thing that seperates them now is person choice and desirability but I see no reason why a person owning a rare immaculate example of a nova shouldnt ask strong money as someone will pay it even if the seller has to wait a while! But I will agree to disagree with you on this one Mike!
lol
Nick.
Im not anti Nova, just a realist. If I was anti Nova, I wouldnt have fúcking owned several would I you plank, nor would I still be here or attend shows surround by loads of them.
If Fords are as ****e as you say, please tell my why Escort Cosworth's STILL fetch £18k, an RS Turbos upto £8k lol hell even R5 GTT's go for £3k upwards along with 205 GTi's.
And please, where have I TOLD anyone what to buy, just merely opening options as to what the best part of eigth thousand pounds of your hard earned cash can buy you, as oppose to a GM.
But hey, I forgot a lot of people on here must be deluded as they've only owned GM;s thus only know how Vauxhalls work, so everthing else is crap. Sorry, my bad.
Exactly Nick, my point being, I never grew up wanting a Nova, it wasnt my dream car. I wanted 205 GTi's, R5 GTT's, RS Turbos. They were the cars to have when I was young, hence me never really wanting a Nova so to speak.
But apparently that makes me anti Nova Flol Yeah ok, Novas seem to be going up in price slightly now, but other marques have rocketed due to there childhood dream appeal, an probably rarer then Nova's now.
I was disappointed as I always thought it was a genuine sport  I'd put 7k towards a 911 turbo
youre still not making sense, and escorts still fetch over 10k because people on the ford scene have money, vauxhall scene is budget based hence why when a thread like this pops up everyone is like OMFG
and if vauxhalls are so **** why are you wasting your time, surely be better to invest in a ford?
How am I not making sense?? LMAO of course thers money in the GM how else would you sell a Nova for £7k if there wasnt, hell do you think all these Cossie owners actually drive there cars? Do they **** on the whole, Ive read numerous threads on RSOC & even MLR about people having to SORN the pride & joy because they cant afford to run it anymore.
Where did I say Vauxhalls in general are shÃ*t? The newer ones are pretty good cars, just built cheap unfortunatly.
i wouldnt spend 7k on a nova c20ex enyway i would spend that on a sport though....
i would keep one eye open at all times and buy a HSR shevett project first but :)
Lol at all the posts!!! i bought this today :)
On the parts alone!!! Had a good look through all the reciepts today, has a folder full of them! I've been without a nova for nearly three years and wanted a new toy, saw this come up and it was if it was meant to be lol , having it transported down in the week plans are to drive it for a bit till september and then take it off the road for the winter and the strip it down to make sure everything is ok engine/box wise and then put my own touch on it - Sport rep maybe and some more power its a lovely car as it stands but needs to be made my own! As other have said ots a lot of money for a nova but its a lot of nova for the money and i caould not build one like that if i wanted to! Fell in love with it when i saw it Total Vauxhall still have the mag!
congrats on buying it, i wouldnt think it needs anything doing to it apart from driven hard as i know the guy looked after it, one thing i would advise is get it on a proper rolling road just to be sure all is well as you should with any car with this amount of modifications for peace of mind and may well save you a little fortune should something be wrong, ppl say its a lot of money which it is but obviously you bought it for what it is and what it can do, like many posts on here yeah you could but a mint series one/evo with 400 brake etc, but end of the day this car would eat them all for breakfast without trying and thats what this car is about, imo a concours standard car is more hassle/boring and hard to enjoy without worrying about it, so enjoy baiting/abusing "supercars" and losing your licence lol
ive just spent £3700 on a nova again, but i think it was worth it as it will only go up in value IMO, plus it was the same model i passed my test in:cool:
Cheers Mr T, why do you say that? it seemed to run line a dream? Will it be worth having ot mapped up? its on EDS management, do you know if they are an out the box hi/low boost maps or can the chips be reprogrammed? Think ill ring regal! Got a lot of learning to do about lets!
So thats what you will be bringing round for a once over lol
I shall reply to the PM now ;)
