IIRC the dizzy drive is different on the cam, i used an ast2 in my 1600 8v to run a 1200/1300 dizzy set up.
id atleast fit a twin choke lol
Why dont you try a 32/34 DMTL Webber.
the manifold would be a crap fit on the 1,6 head,
ok, so it would be easier to mpi it? the nova is carbed and will be used a s a daily, but i have a habit of over revving 1.2's and killing them...
1.6 block
1.3 head,
webber 34/32 carb
1.3 cam
1.3 dizzy set up
but carbs are gay
Leave the carb alone in the museum where it belongs.
  How? lol.Quote:

Tbh though the 1.2's are what 0-40 for new engine, maybe worth replacing another 1.2 carbed engine after you blown it rather than faffing around converting it to mpi.
Orrrr change gear earlier :p ;)
put bike carbs on the 1600 - job done
or fit the V6 into the corsa C
:pQuote:

Well, maybe a 950cfm could make it a bit better.
Though this will do for your 1600:

It could do with a polish, but I haven't run it since October 2003.
/\/\ what spec is that running then? It looks a right hodgepodge of various things. I'll name it "alien vs predator 1.6 conversion" lol
pic too small i cant see it :d
Where shall we start.Quote:

He used to do heads for Mountune, MASS, and a number of other race/championship winning engine builders, including the "Sodemo" engines in the BTCC Williams Renault Lagunas (about 1/2way through the season, with poor results, Williams had someone else sort their engines, though Sodemo still tended them). (The dizzy is there to bung up the hole, it doesn't do anything these days)
All of that feeds through a quaife 5sp sc/cr box with hand fettled syncros, a choice of diffs (usually 3.94, but sometimes 3.74, or 4.18 - I have a 4.53 somewhere!). Diff is a hand tweaked ZF and was set to 60% lock-up.

All of this talk, I think I should get it going again over winter.
You should!
the only way to rev a stock 1.2 to 8k is to down shift to fast.... sloth, as ever you are talking bullsheets.
thort your going to the other side the world in the next few months. y bother just get a car that has a bit of tax and test on it till you go and stop wrecking all the novas before you go.Quote:

nice bit of text typing there. to answer what isnt really your business, i am going thanks, but seen as the celica is pretty much sold, i/we need a cheap daily, and ive been offered a 1.2 with a dead motor. how am i wrecking all the novas? and if ypou have nothing constructive to post, dont.Quote:

I fail lol
Jacking the lifters up around 8K acts as your limiter.
Plus the carb is a natural restrictor etc.... nevermind hey slofff, you believe your gauges

How the hell do you kill a 1.2? they are near indistructable and take plenty of abuse. Sure I've seen a few peope on here having to do real daft things to make them go bang, 100Hp of Nitrous etc. Did you forget its a manual and drive everywhere in first?
yup, realised that when I saw no leads on it lol, I have an old 1.2 dizzy I'll cut the end of and get the lad in work to plate the end of.Quote:
