dont know about on here but

polished bliss sponsor the audi-sport.net site and have a detailing section. i have found this quite helpful.
if you want to do a decent job you should get a foam lance. muts nuts in my oppinion. followed by the two bucket wash.
before i started washing my car properly i never new how much science/technique there was involved. its quite interesting actually and you can get hooked.
rough guide is : wash, clay, polish, glaze, seal.
this is then broken into many sub categorys. eg. degrese, scratch removal, swirl removal...... ect
should have a look at some of the write ups on audi-sport.net in the detailing section. quite amazing what can be acheived. eg. http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthr...ver-Classic-94
Trim tape always looks pro. lol
The grit guard things make me laugh. Some t0sser explaining what it does for over 10 minutes on Youtoob! lol
Snow foaming is pretty sweet too, but IMO the car's are there to be used. No need to go OTT like it's going into Jay Leno's private collection - for a one off Aston I can understand, especially if it belongs to the missus! lol
if its a db9 i wouldnt bother untill you really know what you are doing.
it can go wrong very easy. wash yes, buff no.
I'd like to be as arsed as these people, but all I did today was wash with Autoglym shampoo, the whole 2 bucket method thing and then a coat of waz Autoglym super resin
i have got experience in polishing as i used to work in a body shop and used to hand glaze the cars after painting which is very dangerous with how soft the paint is but i never had any mishapsQuote:

I used to use anything that would make it shiny/feel nice lol and pour the last of the water over the car before hosing it down. lol :/
you used to pour all the grit and dirt back over it?? good plan batman lolQuote:

I'm sorry wha? The M6 got replaced with a DB9 and you're gutted? lol
no she had a m6 as a daily and he db9 as the toy but the m6 got wrote off last week so shes been using the db9 as the daily. during the snow and ****e, hence why its in desperate need of a proper wash

im not having a go at your compitance. im just trying to make the point that there is no point learning on an expensive car. it is one think to say you can polish a car, using an orbital buff is a differant kettle of fish. if you use the wrong grade polish or head you could end up making the car shine less than present or worse burn/buff the top coat completely off.Quote:

Get the underside properly jetwashed, thats where all the salt will be hiding!
yes i know this thats why for a start im going to get a DA as they are alot less harsh as the orbitals. plus ive got plenty of cars to practice polishing on first before i go at it. for now it will just get a funking good wash, inside and out and underneith and everywhere. poor thing having to go out in the wet :(Quote:

best idea is to get an orbital and an old bonnet then work your way up to the db9. thing is its so easy to hit a crease or edge where the paint is thin and take the paint completely off. screw that on a db9.
im fully aware of how careful you have to be near edges and according to purebliss the d/a is less harsh actually. hence why i said itQuote:

i can understand your willing to wash the car for her luke, which i would do myself for the missus.
But if she can afford to own top of the range bmw's and astons, then surley she can afford a decent car "hand" wash and valet imo!?
course she can but i wanna do it. i like cleaning cars so being able to clean such a gorgeous car like that i will really enjoy. sad i know
