Problem with Vista is that it's not XP.

When you say it won't let you log in, what does it actually do? Any error messages?
All it keeps coming up with is THE USER PROFILE SERVICE FAILED THE LOGON

Sounds like a corrupt profile. Poo.
Assuming you bought the laptop from a shop, i.e. you didn't install Vista yourself - I would guess you don't know what the administrator account password is?

goto start menu and in run type services then click on services that appears in the start menu (assuming its the same way in vista than 7)and make sure tis set to run auto
Ive had the computer for about 2 years now and vista was on it when i bought it iknow what the password is it lets me type that in thats when it comes up that messageQuote:
