very nice how much does she charge?
erm std mini lol
Heaton FTL :p
its the only one i could get to fit nice in the bay, even with my man block lol
lol going ahead with this then :thumb:
iv just messured it lol
how do you think it will look sticking 4" out the bonnet lol
Who cares what it looks like lol#
Dooo iiit!
Rotate the engi, in fact no, remove the engine, put a V6 in, rotate it 90', THEN put the charger on top. WINQuote:

Baxter if you change your mind send me a PM ive been looking to buy one for a while, is it a 3rd gen m45?
its got GEC3 written on it lol
Im guessing it is then lol
Whats the plans for it? Smallblock FTW :thumb:
:D see, i did say, i knew you would :D
a supercharger ?
well i could not fit it ontop of the inlet, as i would not beable to see where im going lol
so its going here lol

u gonna run in on an auxilery belt i gather ?
shame about the placment, woulda been real sick just edging a fraction up out of the bay, hidden a bit under a raised flap on the bonnet.
if its anything like those american forced induction jobs ..................
Don't be such a homo, dremel a hole in the bonnet and whack it on the inlet
no i really mean, it would block my view lolQuote:

It is true the roots blower does produce the most heat output (about the same as a turbo really), but its all about what you want. The roots blower turns any engine into an instant torque monster over almost the entire rev range, you don't make as much peak like with a turbo or even to a lesser extend a centrifugal blower but IMHO a usable powerband makes for a faster car.Quote:

Dont worry about it bud, that cup on the strut top will give you all the power you need without the use of a charger lol
winnie the pooh power lol
Ive got loads of questions as im considering doing this on a 1.6 8v
Isnt the inlet on the charger on the other side?
And is it the sausage shape one? How will you make a pipe fit on that?
Also can you run a belt that far? Wouldnt it vibrate alot over a longer distance? :)
After seeing baxter was contemplating this i started looking at them, that is the only place i could think of for it to go as well...BUT as it's NOT going to be mounted to the engine, even if you get drive to it it will NOT be moving with any engine movement, so the belt would be flexing, possibly loosing drive, thats something hard to get round??
Thats going to be needing a fecking HOOOGE belt to run that!!
Also SSOOOOPERRRRCHHHHARGER!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
Couldnt resist it!! Loadsa pipes and a hooge belt! its going to lag a bit that far back!! not only that but ya will need to fab up a tensioner pully before the bulkhead or it might rub then another one before the inlet or again more rubbaige!
was thinking the exact same thing myself:thumb:Quote:

right iv had another think about how to connect it to 'rock' with the engine,
seeing as the 'powerbox' is hollow i can drill it and put nuts and bolts thru it,
if i weld a plate onto the pipe comming from the charger, and bolt it to the powerbox, and use some rose joint linkages for supports, it will rock with the engine lol
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...chargerbox.jpg
so it will be like the ps with the pipe work, but all bolted to the powerbox :)
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...Picture076.jpg
pipe welded to the charger flange, pipe welded to some flat bar, flat bar bolted to the alloy powebox, and some bars across the top to carry the weight :)
and some pipe work lol

kinda like this

Baxter have you though if you do a cut out cross member, would it fit better at the front ( i know this would be close to rad and manifold and gain heat) but it might be an option to gain better access to the drive belt??
The end off the day anything is possible if you want..
Scott
i have looked at this scott, and put it this way, not a chance, as my oil filters on the front and the way the manifold sits lol
+ with the weight of it all on the front, i could of put a V6 in there, if i put it at the back, it wont be that bad lol
Another option (but this is technical, so you wont do it lol)
Some how look to try do away with the vaux inlet manifold, construct something so you could mount TB direct to the charger, and that TB to a new custom inlet manifold??
EDIT: EG the C20XE inlet and TB setup is the sort of thing I'm thinking..
This would save space and do away with all the piping!
