ha i just done this, you need contents cover, building the landlord should have
I think it varies greatly, your best off asking your landlord what cover, if any, he already has arranged, then take out your own cover accordingly
Private or through an agency?
As said, contents cover if you decide you want it. Worth having though really.
Don't forget trivial stuff like TV license!
[edit] Whens the house warming party anyway lol
The misses and i rented 3 different places before taking the plunge and buying.
Take meter readings the day you move in, just for the record if the utilities companies try it on. If you get a checklist for damage, fixtures and fittings etc, check it over, make notes and keep a copy.
As said remember TV license, council tax etc.
Basically cover your ****, then enjoy being in you "own" home!
Good luck.
Good luck with it all, hopefully me and my girlfriend will be buying our first place this year. Excited already!
the estate agent does an inventory and meter readings on the day we move in. not that there is fack all there, theres no damage either as its fully redecorate, new carpets, new kitchen, new bathroom, new conservatory lolQuote:

Other than that, enjoy shafting where and when you want, also crapping with the door open etc etc lol
Contract may well be with the landlord but via the agency. Our last place was done this way. We paid the agency a fee, then dealt with the landlord. Worked out well. Hope it does for you too.Quote:
