tracing where my nova came form

hi im in n.ireland and on my tax book is said previously registered in GB so i went to the dvlani and asked to get the old plate. they were able to give me the plate but not were it was originally sold from.

is there any way of finding out where it was sold from originally so i can possibly get the correct dealer stickers

by the last 3 letters you could find out the town/city there was a list somewhere on here not so long back

TN is Newcastle upon Tyne.

I'd imagine so it isn't exactly a village

must consult google

seems to be coming to a dead end. according to the dealers the registrations where generated randomly and ktn doesnt mean newcastle upon tyne

back in 1992 where there many vauxhall dealers in england?

edit just of phone to yet another dealer. he has searched chassis no through various systems and no luck. but says it is a north eastern region car by the registration. still no further though :(

The way that reg system works means your car will have been registered in Newcastle, j494 ktn

The J is the registration year, in this case late 1991 - early 1992
The numbers are just the number in sequential order starting from 1 up to 999
The k is just random
And the last two tn are the denominators for the area/county it was registered in.

so spudly your telling me my old number plate of h568 lpa means it is registered in the H year 568 would mean either random or the registared number of car's and the lpa would be the area post code letters if this is the case then wow tracking car's back to there origin would be alot easyer
