I've seen some people put Sikaflex into there engine mounts
Why is this ?
Does it give any advantages for anything ?
Cheers, Vaughan :)

No real advantages vaughan just makes them stiffer so when theres an XE or anything hanging from them it dosent move around as much.Quote:

Did you get proper ones or Sikaflex up the original mounts lol ?
Hmm i might try this if theres improvement to be had as ive just fitted an XE to mine but left the mounts as they were.Quote:

make your own, slightly floppy ones are better lol
I got some brand new mounts and filled them with Tigerseal, which is polyurathene based I believe. So you can say "I have poly engine mounts" if you don't wanna make it sound so pikey lol They were perfect on my 1.6, good fit being std and didn't vibrate through the car too much.
Got some proper solid TAS ones to go on when the XE is fitted though.
I quite fancy doing it when I put the engine into the Mk1 :)
Just wanted to see the point and if there was any gains to be had
i put them on my last xe and it was spot on. Used to hit the rad/bulkhead. Filled mounts up with tigerseal and it was great, handled alot better as well throwing it into corners
