lol
rofl this is priceless. I dunno what's funnier the need to post this sh1t in the first place or the fact it's been spammed.

Slammed the rear more...

Only cause it was like this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint24.jpg
The plan was changed on how to tidy up the chassis leg, to keep them both looking the same, this was done.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint3.jpg
Then..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint7.jpg
Then..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint10.jpg
With some...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint8.jpg
Then
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint2.jpg
Now they are both straight and the other bit have been plated with 1.5mm thick metal so they are strong as funk.
Cleaned the sills off to, nice a clean. Bar a lil bit of surface rust around the drain holes which was treated while the floor got fully sealed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint15.jpg
Then..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint18.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint17.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint6.jpg
While that was done, the engine bay was primered.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint19.jpg
Then flatted off,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint21.jpg
Looks smooth to me...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint22.jpg
Car is so dirty tho, it hurts me.
Back at home, i get a coat of "filler primer" or what i call sh*te over the servo.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint12.jpg
Don't buy "filler" primer from Halfords its not worth it. Re primed at the body shop, flatted off.
Going with bumper grey...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint25.jpg
Think it will work, but not 100% yet.. Might go blue with it... Thoughts?
Tank is the same bumper/trim grey.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...idepaint13.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sidepaint9.jpg
Halfords filler primer isn't high build primer, Its like body filler primer.
Coming along well, Be even more awesome once this stage is completed.
Filler primer to me, means it will fill sanding marks.. Guess i'm not seeing it the right way.
Cheers dude, tank straps are being made pretty ;) so should complete the grey tank.. New braided stainless fuel lines to match that.
Damn mate, that's some work you've done there. Servo looks good in that colour. Halfords filler primer is a right ball ache takes absolute ages to dry properly and paint over.
No it's just sh*te.
Hoping the servo looks good that colour, was thinking about blue..
Chassis leg/underside was dealt with very nicely fella and Id be very happy with that. Im sure it will look fantastic painted and you will put us all to shame this year! On another note I wouldnt do the servo body colour as you need something to break up all the blue smooooooooothness in my opinion. ;)
Nick.
Agree with Nick J dude. Needs other colours in the bay. Would look too blue even though it's a lovely colour.
They look straight as now, and i know there is nothing hiding under them as i've looked in them..lol Mirrors planned for billing....lol
That is the only thing putting me off painting the servo blue..
Unleash the beast, thanks Benn lolQuote:

Went to local paintshop and used some proper stuff and was cheaper that halfrauds one anyways
Yeah proper stuff is always better. I should of tryed to save time doing it at home. And thank you.
Nice update Benn
Underside looks very well done
IMO keep the servo gray, blue would look a bit tacky I reckon
Me likey! Keep the servo and tank that colour too
Cheers Edd, i think the grey just works well with the blue.
lol will do.Quote:

Love the smooth bay
outstanding as per usual benn.
iain
Your car was the only other nova i'd seen with a polished brake servo other than mine.
We'll have to wait n see what it looks like all built up. Keep it up.
Great update benn. Your Cars looking really well. Grey servo ftw. Can't wait to see it up close!
So found out yesterday that the water pump was wrong, as it was a late one. GGrrr, got that out, then me and Dan set about setting the timing and cams up with the adjustable pulley on the inlet.
So to day i wanted to get my inlet manifold built up and on..
First thing was remove the tb to see why the bolts had come undone. Did this to find the thread had pulled out of both holes.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9597.jpg
Set and tapping and helicoiling them to fix it.
Drilled and tapped.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9598.jpg
Coil in.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9600.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9601.jpg
Tb cleaned and refitted with a new gasket. Rebuild inlet. Really annoyed, i have a chromed fuel rail that i rebuild some where, cant find it for the life of me.. So a dirty one will have to do for the time.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9607.jpg
Clean surface ready for new inlet gasket and get all fitted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9620.jpg
Made sure these can all be got at from under the car just in case... Polished the jubliee clips too.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9608.jpg
Found that the lacquar had moved the base colour on the servo, so you could see the black i had used as a pre base.. So flatted it all off and repainted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9621.jpg
Looks ok..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9622.jpg
Mc looked dirty, so cleaned it off, smoothed it a bit..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9606.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9603.jpg
Its now been painted grey to match the servo, think that should look ok...
Re painted and lacquered all my brake lines too.
Then did a little polishing...
This bit gets forgotten about by alot of people, but you can see it as the dizzy mounts to it. So if you have a nice sexy dizzy and rocker cover, this can let it down... So sanded and semi polished.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9616.jpg
Started a new oil cap too... half and half jobbie..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9614.jpg
Final buff.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9618.jpg
And with the cam end too, need a tiny bit more on the soft head.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9619.jpg
That's it.. More tomoz.
Yeah think grey is the way forward. I want new wheels. Really want some nice BBS rims..Quote:

Beutifull benn just beutifull!!!. I love the colour codded gear box!! Is it going to be a straight forward job of building the car up now? What are you going to do with lowering the tie bars??
Wahey! That underside looks very nice. Surprised you stonechipped the outer sill though incase it looks less smooth.
