Looking good Benn :D i didnt read the whole thread, so why exactly you stripping it down again?
The enginebay was quickly painted just before pv, but as the engine was in it was the best job and i was never happy with it, plus there where bits i've wanted to do anyway.
And my engines got a leak around the oil pump that i wanted to fix for ages.
Cheers too :)
This, along with Nick J's are my two favourite current day Novas. No question.
I love what you are doing with your car Ben, your style is very similar to my own, yet we are both using it on two different cars :thumb:
Can't wait to see your bay when your motor is painted/polished and you have hidden your wiper motor etc mate

Got the loom out of the engine bay, along with clutch cable and bonnet cable.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ayrepairs4.jpg
Started grinding bits off ready to weld, fill and clean up.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ayrepairs5.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs11.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ayrepairs6.jpg
Should i smooth it?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ayrepairs7.jpg
Found where my rads been leaking plus time i've got a bit of surface rust here, so started grinding it down to clean up and seal up.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ayrepairs8.jpg
Had two holes from when my alarm was fitted.. Made it a bit worse when i grinder touched it.. Oops.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs10.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs14.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs15.jpg
Welded up the old water pipe hole.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs19.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs18.jpg
Started putting some black fiberglass in, bit messy but it fills the small holes/dips left fromt he welding.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs16.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...yrepairs17.jpg
All sanded off.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...rebaystuff.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff2.jpg
Got a skim of filler over them, again a bit messy but they are small bits so not fussed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff7.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff6.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff5.jpg
Left that to dry, so i pulled the m/s and servo off and cut all my shi*ey done brake lines.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff9.jpg
Then got to sanding/flatting the rest of the bay ready for paint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...baystuff10.jpg
Then started sanding back the filler.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ebaystuff4.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...baystuff11.jpg
Left it at that to day. More tomoz if my mouths not hurting from having a tooth out.
nice work
are you smoothing the wiper motor hole up?
Am in two minds about it... After the other thread it was an all go..lol
doooooooo it..
your smoothing near enough everything else, so it should be done to go with the rest of the bay
This is going to look awesome, look forward to the finished result!
Just worried it might look crap...Quote:
